1. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly — such as your name, email address, payment details, and the creative works (scripts, plays, notes, storyboards, characters, production materials) you upload or generate through the platform. We also collect technical information automatically, including IP address, device type, browser, language preference, and usage analytics needed to operate and improve the service.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use personal information to:

• Provide, maintain, and improve SOY ScriptWriter™ features, including AI-assisted writing and production tools.
• Process payments and manage subscriptions (Free, Pro Solo, Team, and School).
• Respond to your inquiries and provide customer support.
• Send service updates, security notices, and — only with consent — marketing communications.
• Comply with legal obligations under Canadian federal and British Columbia law.

3. Ownership of Your Creative Work

You retain full ownership and copyright of all scripts, plays, characters, storyboards, and other creative content you produce using SOY ScriptWriter™. We do not claim rights to your work and we do not use your creative content to train third-party AI models without explicit, opt-in consent.

4. AI Processing

When you use AI features (generation, ideation chatbot, character intelligence, storyboard generation), your prompts and relevant project context are transmitted to AI model providers strictly to fulfill your request. We do not share your projects with these providers for any purpose other than generating the output you asked for.

5. Disclosure to Third Parties

We disclose personal information only to trusted service providers (payment processors, cloud hosting, email delivery, AI model providers) who are contractually obligated to protect it, and only as required to deliver the service. We do not sell personal information.

6. Data Storage and Transfers

Data may be processed and stored on servers located in Canada and other jurisdictions. Where data is transferred outside of Canada, comparable protections are applied through contractual safeguards in accordance with PIPEDA and PIPA guidance.

7. Security

We use industry-standard safeguards — encryption in transit, encrypted at-rest storage, role-based access control, and row-level security on user data — to protect your information from unauthorized access, disclosure, or loss.

8. Your Rights

Under PIPEDA and BC PIPA, you have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you.
• Request correction of inaccurate information.
• Withdraw consent for non-essential processing at any time.
• Request deletion of your account and associated personal data.
• File a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia.

9. Children

SOY ScriptWriter™ is not directed to children under 13. For School plans, the educational institution is responsible for obtaining any required parental consent and acts as the data controller for student users.

10. Changes to this Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the service or by email. The "Last updated" date above will always reflect the most recent revision.
